Pulse Survey

The Pulse Survey is effectively an abbreviated, more focused version of the standard Employee Opinion Survey or Employee Engagement Survey

Administered more frequently, and generally to a representative sample of employees or customers rather than the entire population, Pulse Surveys identify employee concerns and reactions to on-going initiatives in a timely, reliable and economic manner.

Quantum's Approach: Pulse Survey

Quantum recommends conducting a Pulse Survey every four to six months, usually between the major comprehensive employee surveys.

Of course, with increased survey activity, the risk of employees suffering from 'survey fatigue' increases. For this reason, Pulse Surveys are always kept short, sharp and quick to complete. We limit the survey to a maximum of 30 numeric scale and two free text questions which can typically be completed in less than 10 minutes.

This also reduces the time taken to capture and analyse survey information, which is key to maximising the benefits of the Pulse Survey. The sooner information is supplied to you, the more up to date this information will be and the quicker Senior Management will be able to respond to employee or customer concerns.

As with the standard Organisational Effectiveness and Engagement Surveys, the material covered in the Pulse Survey is always customised to suit the specific needs of your organisation.

There are, however, some core KPIs that are particularly reliable in terms of assessing organisational climate and are recommended for inclusion.

The ideal use of the survey is as a longitudinal instrument with core items that are included in each survey to allow trends to be tracked over time. However, in order to keep the survey relevant to current organisational developments, items can also be included on a survey-by-survey basis.

As part of the reporting process, Quantum will provide you with an Executive Summary Report which highlights key survey findings and an analysis of free comments. This will allow Senior Management to expediently familiarise themselves with major issues and subsequently plan responses.
